Alabama football did what it couldn’t last year. The Crimson Tide beat Vanderbilt 30-14 on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, avenging its 40-35 defeat in 2024.

The win moved Alabama to 4-1 on the season. Vanderbilt fell to 5-1 with the defeat.

The revenge factor

When the Crimson Tide beat Georgia last season, grabbing the No.1 ranking nationally, it overlooked the next game. Alabama went to Nashville overconfident, against a Vanderbilt squad that was coming off losses to Georgia State and Missouri.

Entering this year’s matchup, in an eerily similar situation after upsetting UGA last week, the Tide wasn’t going to make the same mistake.
