Dallas, Texas -- With Syracuse football’s offense in the midst of an eight-quarter stretch without a touchdown, signs of frustration began to show during a 31-18 loss to Southern Methodist on Saturday.
The most obvious one was broadcast on the ACC Network, when offensive quality control coach Josh Gatis was caught by television cameras screaming and pointing at the quarterback on the SU sideline.
When asked about the moment afterwards, Rickie Collins said that Gattis was upset that he wasn’t doing things on the field that the coaching staff had emphasized.
“I have to do better with taking the coaching to the field,” Collins said. “What we discuss on the sideline and obviously go through the field, I have to take it onto the field and execute it how we want to.”
