More corn dogs are being recalled due to the potential presence of wood in the batter used to produce the product, the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Foster Poultry Farms, LLC, is recalling over 3.8 million pounds of its chicken corn dog products, according to the FSIS's notice. The products, which the FSIS said may be contaminated with "pieces of wood," were produced by the Livingston, California establishment between July 30, 2024, through Aug. 4, 2025.

This recall comes after a voluntary recall issued by Hillshire Brand Company, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods, on September 27 for more than two dozen products sold under its State Fair and Jimmy Dean brands. The products included over 50 million pounds of corn dogs on a stick, sold under the State Fair brand, as well as pancakes and sausages on a stick, sold under the Jimmy Dean brand. These items were produced between March 17 and Sept. 26 and sold online and at retailers nationwide.

In relation to the Oct. 4 recall, FSIS reported that it became aware of the issue after receiving a consumer complaint about an injury resulting from consuming a recalled chicken corn dog product from Foster Poultry Farms. The agency would receive several more complaints, including five that involved injuries.

The FSIS said the recalled Foster Poultry Farms corn dogs were shipped to retailers and institutional locations nationwide, including the Department of Defense and USDA Commodity Foods donations.

USA TODAY contacted Foster Poultry Farms on Saturday, Oct. 4, but has not received a response.
