DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - A man crashed into a utility pole while on the run from deputies.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says deputies spotted 54-year-old James Porche, a wanted felon, around 9:00 p.m. near Highway 54 and Professional Park Drive.

They say Porche refused to pull over, and deputies pursued him.

According to the DCSO press release, Porche hit a utility pole at the intersection of East Parrish Avenue and Leitchfield Road.

Officials say Porche was taken out of the vehicle and arrested, and they found around 30 grams of meth and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

They say several homes and businesses lost power when the pole was hit.

Owensboro Police Department responded to the area to control traffic at intersections affected by the loss of power.
