Windy conditions have been moving through the state today. Even though we saw relatively calm surface winds at Balloon Fiesta Park this morning, winds just above the surface were too strong for balloons to actually take off. A static display was still possible with mild temperatures, though. Throughout the day, winds have really picked up, with some areas seeing 50+ mph wind gusts. Heading toward sunset, these winds will calm down significantly.
