A six-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital after a crash between a van and a ute in Adelaide's north today.
Police responded to reports of a collision between two Toyotas at the intersection of King Road and Penfield Road in Virginia about 11am.
The six-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the van, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the van, a 42-year-old woman, and two children, aged 11 and 10, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The ute occupants, a 37-year-old man and a four-year-old girl, were taken to hospital also with minor injuries.
The intersection was closed to traffic for several hours as major crash investigators examined the scene.
Locals told 9News the intersection is a hotspot for crashes.
