The Millcreek Township School Board touted Ian Roberts as the best person for the job when the board voted 9-0 to hire him as superintendent of the Millcreek Township School District in June 2020 .

"Our School Search committee and the entire school board are looking forward to the knowledge, passion and excitement that Dr. Ian Roberts is able to bring to MTSD," School Director Shirley Winschel, chairperson of the board's instruction and student services committee, said in a statement at the time.
