Thanks, Michigan senators, for standing firm on Trump budget
I would like to commend U.S. Sens. Gary Peters and Elissa Slotkin for their votes against the appropriations bill extension . Not siding with the House version of the bill shows we have some representation in the U.S. Congress that will stand up to the Trump Republicans. Our state has/will loose billions from these cuts. Here’s a sample of what we have lost:
Due to the elimination of clean energy tax credits, Michigan households are predicted to pay $320 more in electric costs each year by 2035 .
The EPA cancelled $156 million in funds for Michigan clean energy projects.
Due to the rollback of clean energy programs, multiple factories and construction zones in Michigan will close, killing 17,000 Michigan jobs over the n
