MOREHEAD, Ky. — Mason Hackett's 3-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes remaining on Saturday lifted Dayton to a 35-28 victory over Morehead State after the Flyers saw a 28-0 lead disappear.
Luke Hansen scored two touchdowns on the ground and wide receiver Gavin Lochow caught a touchdown pass and threw for a TD, giving Dayton (4-1, 2-0 Pioneer Football League) a 28-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Morehead State had touchdown drives of 73, 51 and 75 yards and the Eagles tied the score when Sidney Webb returned a fumble 62 yards for a touchdown.
Dayton's Jordan Price blocked a field-goal attempt with five minutes remaining in the game then the Flyers drove 76 yards in seven plays capped by Hackett's touchdown run with 1:46 remaining.
