LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - An area of low pressure will move onshore Sunday bringing on and off to the area. It won't rain all day and we will see plenty of breaks with even some sunshine peering through at times. The bulk of the rain will remain to our east around the New Orleans area. Rain chances will continue through the evening, overnight, and into Monday, before the low moves out of the area.
In the tropics, a tropical wave has a decent chance of development over the next week. It will move westward and looks to turn northward as it approaches the Lesser Antilles.
Locally, drier weather returns to Acadiana for the week ahead after Monday's rain chances. Highs will reach near 90 degrees each afternoon with only one or two storms developing each day.
