Mason Mount dedicated his goal against Sunderland AFC to his grandad, as a number of Manchester United teammates showed their support.
The attacking midfielder was deployed from the outset by Ruben Amorim on Saturday, taking very little time to open the scoring against the Black Cats at Old Trafford . The 26-year-old's first touch on a pinpoint cross from Bryan Mbeumo was incredible, as he hid the ball behind Omar Alderete before tucking it past an outstretched Robin Roefs after just eight minutes.
And taking to social media to mark his first goal of the season, Mount shared an uncaptioned photo carousel of him in action against Sunderland to Instagram. He then shared the post to the stories section of his account, writing: "For you Grandad."
