President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, are headed to Egypt in hopes to nail down a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. While Israel has signaled that it would slow or even halt its Gaza offensive during the negotiations, health officials in Gaza reported that 70 people were killed on Saturday in fighting and Israeli airstrikes.
