PALAKKAD: The hospital superintendent has clarified that there was no medical malpractice in the amputation of the nine-year-old girl's arm. The hospital superintendent, Dr. Jayashree, explained that the reason for the amputation of the child's arm was not a mistake in putting on the plaster and that the wound was not deep. The superintendent said that the child was brought to the hospital on September 24, 25 and 26. The superintendent alleged that the child was not immediately brought to the hospital despite instructions to bring the child to the hospital immediately if there was any swelling. Dr. Jayashree also said that she welcomes any kind of investigation.
The superintendent's response came after the investigation report, which found no fault on the part of the hospital authorities
