Bengaluru, Oct 5: The state government has advised moviegoers to carefully retain their tickets and proof of payment after the high court issued a stay on the government order capping cinema ticket prices at Rs 200 in multiplexes until the final verdict is delivered.

The government had earlier directed that movie ticket prices in multiplexes should not exceed Rs 200 in order to prevent exorbitant pricing. However, the high court has stayed this order and instructed multiplexes to maintain detailed and auditable records for every ticket sold.

These records must include the date and time of ticket sales, mode of purchase (online or at the counter), details of payment (credit/debit card, UPI, net banking, or cash), the amount collected, and GST details
