The Chicago Blackhawks are keeping one of the players they signed to a professional tryout around.
Matt Grzelcyk has reportedly signed a contract with the Blackhawks, keeping the defenceman in the Windy City into the regular season, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Sunday.
The financial terms of the deal were not initially reported.
Grzelcyk joined the Blackhawks ahead of the season for training camp and pre-season action. In three games, he has been held without a point but has carried an even plus-minus in 52:59 of total ice time.
He has also picked up one shot on goal and two blocked shots through the exhibition schedule.
