The Met Office has warned that "widely unsettled" conditions are set to hit the UK later this month.

It comes after Storm Amy , the first named storm of the season, battered the UK with wind and rain over the weekend, causing several severe weather warnings to be issued by the Met Office and multiple flood alerts from the Environment Agency.

But from next week, high pressure is set to take control over most parts of the UK for a few days, bringing settled conditions and some sunny spells to parts of the UK from Tuesday (October 7).
