Indianapolis Colts wide receiver A.D. Mitchell is active today, Oct. 5, for their NFL Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders .

In the wake of a couple of huge mistakes in NFL Week 4, Mitchell's status was uncertain. Coach Shane Steichen said Mitchell is "going to go through practice and he's got to earn it going forward."

Mitchell fumbled the ball through the end zone in the third quarter of their game against the Los Angeles Rams , negating what would have been a 76-yard touchdown. He later committed a holding penalty, negating what would have been a long Jonathan Taylor touchdown run.

The Colts are thinner at wide receiver than they'd like. Alec Pierce (concussion) is missing a second consecutive game, and Michael Pittman Jr. (hamstring) spent time on the injury list
