The Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), a deemed-to-be university headquartered in Mumbai, is preparing to develop a national network of like-minded social science institutions from across India to work on locally relevant developmental challenges with focus on regional complexities.

With four existing campuses in TISS – Mumbai , Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati along with plans to revive the now dissolved TISS research centre in Patna – the plan involves creation of research and academic hubs in West, South, North East and North of India.
