“Relief, rescue underway…”: TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee on Darjeeling landslide; urges party workers to join disaster relief work

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee expressed deep anguish on Sunday over the devastation caused by heavy rainfall and landslides in Darjeeling and surrounding areas, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.

In a post on X, Banerjee said relief and rescue operations are ongoing, with the State Disaster Management Department, the Darjeeling district administration, and local volunteers working tirelessly on the ground.

“It is with deep anguish that I learn of the devastation caused by incessant rainfall and landslides in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and parts of Jalpaiguri, leading to tragic loss of lives.
