Madison Center for the Arts to host annual tradition

The “Arizona Nutcracker,” the only “Nutcracker” ballet performed entirely by dancers ages 3–18, returns for its 26th anniversary season this holiday season.

There will be three performances, over Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 21, at The Madison Center for the Arts, 5601 N. 16th St., in Phoenix.

The holiday show will feature falling snow, angels dancing on clouds, more than 400 costumes, and a Christmas tree that grows through the roof of the theater.

Dancers from across the Valley have been rehearsing since August to bring this holiday tradition to life. Families are invited to stay after the matinee shows to meet Santa and take photos with Clara, the Nutcracker, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and other characters.
