The Grand Junction City Council is looking at a potential update to its comprehensive plan in 2027, but nearer term changes received less support at its Monday work session.
City Manager Mike Bennett said comprehensive plans, which cover a 10-year period, often are updated after five to seven years into the plan’s length. Those typically are lengthy processes with significant public engagement and the funding for that is not available for next year. However, Bennett said the city could budget for an update in 2027.
