LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Kyren Lacy’s attorney has issued a new statement in support of the District Attorney following what he said was a recent post on the “public opinion court.”

Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, said the post suggested the former LSU standout football player’s life was lost because of the DA’s actions. Ory said the claims are misleading and offensive.

“The DA did not simply accept the charges presented by the state police,” Ory said. “Instead, she took a step that many would not have: she conducted her own independent investigation. This wasn’t mandatory. It was an extra effort she made to ensure fairness and neutrality in the process.”
