A young man died after a package of cocaine he swallowed before catching a flight in Manchester 'burst' inside his stomach.

Four people have since been charged with drug offences following the death 20-year-old Jensen Westhead, who was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Dubai last year.

Lancashire Police said that on December 2 2024, Mr Westhead swallowed a number of packages of cocaine at a hotel in Manchester before boarding the flight, which arrived in Dubai the following day.

At least one of the packages of cocaine 'burst in his stomach' and he suffered an overdose, the force added.

Mr Westhead, 20, of Thornton Cleveleys, was later found dead at the Hotel Avalon
