Montgomery city officials held a press conference Sunday to address a mass shooting downtown that killed two people and left 12 others injured.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Bibb Street and Commerce Street.

Montgomery Police Chief James Graboys identified the victims as 17-year-old Jeremiah Morris and 43-year-old Shalanda Williams.

Chief Graboys said of the 12 injured, five of them have life-threatening injuries. Seven of the victims are under the age of 20, with the youngest being 16-years-old.

Chief Graboys said Sunday that investigators believe one of the victims was targeted and soon after gunfire was exchanged.

Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed also announced that a $50,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to the identification
