Thousands of Hello Kitty fans took part in the annual race dedicated to the charismatic bubble-headed, bow-wearing character that has been around for 51 years.
The runners, mainly women, donned Hello Kitty ears, tutus, glitter, and other pink accessories to their outfits, filling the avenue with a sea of pink shirt wearing runners.
Karina Hernández, a 44-year-old stylist who attended the race with her 14-year-old daughter, describes defines herself as a runner and Hello Kitty fan.
"I believe that we, Kitty lovers, are all about love, peace and tranquility," she said.
