CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is facing charges for burglarizing multiple police squad cars on the city's South Side last week, officials said.

Chicago police said the break-ins happened around 11:35 p.m. last Sunday at a secured parking lot near 52nd Street and Wentworth Avenue in Fuller Park. That's right next to the Second District CPD station.

Detectives said burglars got away with some unknown items.

Andres Estrada, 26, was taken into custody last Sunday and appeared in court on Tuesday.

Estrada is facing burglary, criminal trespassing and other charges.

He was granted pre-trial release and is due back in court on Monday.
