One person died and two others were injured in two shootings Saturday night at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg. The State Law Enforcement Division arrested a Richland Co man in connection with one of the shootings.

The university confirmed Sunday morning that one person died, another was hospitalized after suffering a gunshot wound, and a third was injured while running from the scene of the first shooting.

The State Law Enforcement Division charged Matthew Daniel McCoy, 18, with Pointing and Presenting a Firearm at a Person, and Carrying a Weapon on School Property. The SLED investigation was requested by the South Carolina State

University Department of Public Safety.
