The Tulsa SPCA is making it easier to bring home a pet this weekend. They're waiving adoption fees all weekend long, saying it’s one of the best ways to get more dogs and cats out of the shelter and into loving homes.
Reducing barriers to pet adoption
The Tulsa SPCA is hoping this weekend means fewer kennels filled, and more pets with families. As part of the Mars Global Adoption Weekend, adoption fees for dogs and cats are waived through Sunday.
“One of the things that we like to do at Tulsa SPCA is reduce barriers to adoption." said Suzanne Jalot with the Tulsa SPCA. "Because the shelter is meant to be a temporary place, it’s not a permanent home.”
Normally, adoption fees range from about 100 dollars to 166, but this weekend they’re free. Those pets will go home spayed or neutered, v
