TEL AVIV: The world is watching with hope as peace talks between Hamas and Israel begin in Egypt today, mediated by the United States and Arab nations, aiming to bring Gaza back to the path of peace. According to US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, Hamas has agreed to release hostages, while Israel has agreed to a ceasefire in return.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and senior diplomatic officials have arrived in Egypt to participate in the talks. Meanwhile, tomorrow marks two years since the war began- a conflict that has claimed the lives of more than 67,130 Palestinians, including many children.
