A 64-year-old Hamilton man has been charged in connection to a crash that killed a woman on an electric scooter.

The collision happened on Aug. 22 near the intersection of Maple and Grosvenor avenues. A 62-year-old Hamilton woman riding an electric scooter was hit by a vehicle, police said in a news release on Friday.

The woman was transported to hospital where she later died, police said.

Police said the man was charged with careless driving causing death. He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 10.

The investigation is still ongoing, police said, and are asking anyone with information to contact them or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
