ST ANDREWS, S.C. — One Facebook post prompted members of the Columbia community to step up and help create a day to remember.

Jessica Ambers' best friend, Heidi, was holding a birthday celebration for her son, Joey, at the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant off St. Andrews Road.

Joey is 23 and on the autism spectrum. His mom said Chuck E. Cheese is his happy place.

On Sunday, that happy place got even happier.

In response to a Facebook post Heidi made asking for more guests to join the celebration, around 20 people, many of them strangers, showed up to make Joey’s day extra special.

Heidi didn’t want to speak on camera, but Ambers said the response from the community was a surprise.
