ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — On Sunday, the Capital Region’s Jewish community gathered to remember the victims of the October 7th, 2023, attack in Israel and to call attention to the hostages still being held by Hamas.
On Tuesday it will mark two years since the Hamas attack on Israel. The community came together at the Albany Jewish Center for a memorial to show their support and their concern for the 48 hostages left both alive and deceased.
Advocates at the event mentioned that this was the worst attack on the Jewish community since the Holocaust.
“Since the Holocaust in our time, it has served as a painful wake up call for all of us. We stand united in strong and vocal support of Israel. We will continue to advocate for Israel's security and its right to exist in peace,” said Simi Leifer
