PARKER, S.D. (KELO) — Construction efforts continue on the soon-to-be Turner County Courthouse.

"We'll continue on steel here for the next couple of weeks," Journey Construction superintendent Ryan Preheim said. "After that, it's really getting the building enclosed, the windows and the roof system in. Try to get everything enclosed before wintertime approaches."

Construction on the new $19 million courthouse started in June. Journey Construction Group is leading the project, and so far, county commissioners say it's pacing on schedule.

"This interior steel is going in now, and one of the next big steps is to pour the concrete floors," Chair of the Turner County Commission Jared Hybertson said.
