LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A fall festival theme closed out the final West End Farmers Market this season.
The event was held in California Park, featuring plenty of fun including kickball, pumpkin painting, henna and free KFC meals to celebrate the launch of 502 Black Eats Week.
Organizers told WHAS11 News they wanted an event that focused on bringing a sense of belonging to the community on the city’s west side.
"It's the influence of aiding those cultural spaces but also transforming them into something better than they are right now, something more than what it is right now," Marcel Malone, a Youth Advisory Council member from Change Today Change Tomorrow, said.
It was a collaborative event between Change Today, Change Tomorrow and Central High School’s pre-med community health worker class
