GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The calendar may say it's October but Mother Nature is bringing the heat.
Regardless of the near-record conditions, many are still spending their first weekend of October embracing fall fun. Places like Robinette's Apple Haus & Winery are competing with the West Michigan beaches.
Despite the leaves on the ground, visitors at Robinette's were dressed for summer.
“It’s unbelievable,” said visitor Heather Halligan. “It's probably close to 80 degrees in the middle of October so that's very unusual.”
Halligan came with her friends to enjoy the elaborate corn maze and cool down with the Robinette's cider slush and vanilla soft serve sundae. Despite not knowing what season to dress for, she doesn't mind the extended summer.
