ROOKS COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - An earthquake shook some parts of northwest Kansas Sunday afternoon.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 2.8 earthquake struck just before 3 p.m. about four miles north of Stockton. The quake occurred at a depth of 12.3 km (7.6 mi.) underground. As of 6 p.m. Sunday, the USGS received 9 reports of people feeling the shaking in and around Stockton, with an additional three people reporting the quake in northern Rooks and southern Phillips counties.
