Christian Pulisic will not lose his penalty-taking duties despite a costly miss against Juventus, according to AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Pulisic blazed a spot kick well over the bar early in the second half of Sunday's clash against Juventus in Turin.

The match would end scoreless as Milan lost its grip on first place heading into the October international break.

Pulisic has had an outstanding season for Milan, tallying six goals and two assists in just eight matches so far. But Sunday's miss contributed to the end of Rossoneri's four-game win streak.

Milan is now in third place, two points behind Napoli and Roma in a tight Serie A table.

After the game, Allegri said the American performed well despite the miss against the Bianconeri.

"Pulisic missed the penalty but he had an extraordinary game," Allegri said. "He has always been the penalty kick taker. You don't change it for a mistake."

Pulisic missed a penalty for the first time in his career in February, as Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić saved his effort from the spot.

The U.S. men's national team star now has a record of 13 penalties converted and two missed for club and country.

Pulisic will now fly to Texas, where he'll join his USMNT teammates ahead of a friendly against Ecuador on Friday. The U.S. will then face Australia in Colorado four days later.

Milan will face Fiorentina on Oct. 19 in its first game back from the international break.
