Fresh off being named Clive Churchill medallist after Sunday’s grand final win over the Storm , Broncos fullback Reece Walsh has been named to make his Test debut as one of seven new faces in Kevin Walters’ 23-man squad for the Ashes tour of England.

While Walters wouldn’t confirm if Walsh will start at fullback in the opening game against England on October 26, the Brisbane superstar capped off a stellar NRL season with five linebreak assists, three try assists, 12 tackle busts and a try against Melbourne to make quite the final push for selection ahead of incumbent Dylan Edwards.

Edwards was also named in the squad, which includes six other debutants in Blayke Brailey, Keaon Koloamatangi, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Jacob Preston, Gehamat Shibasaki and Ethan Strange.
