TORONTO — The Yankees were confident this weekend’s trip to Toronto for the American League Division Series would be different.

To an extent, who can blame them?

Sure, the Yankees were 1-6 at Rogers Centre during the regular season. But this is a different team now.

The Yankees bolstered weaknesses at the trade deadline, got healthier and entered the postseason with the best record in baseball over the final six weeks of the regular season. Better yet, the Yankees were oozing with momentum after their historic comeback in the Wild Card Series against the Red Sox.

If they could slay Boston — another team they had trouble with throughout the regular season — then they could handle Toronto and flip home-field advantage.
