VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Officials with the Virginia Beach Fire Department have announced that all public safety units have been cleared after they were unable to locate a missing swimmer at the Oceanfront.

Officials with the Virginia Beach Fire Department originally told us that units received a report of a missing swimmer at 4:09 p.m. The search included rescue swimmers, fireboats, drones, and units from the Virginia Beach Police Department.

This call has now been turned over to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
