Ihave a house elf living with me. I am sure of this because fabric things keep disappearing. Not clothing, mind you. Just fabric thingies.

I know all about house elves because I read the Harry Potter books. I know that Dobby and his fellow house elves wear bits of cast-off fabric as clothing. Tea towel togas; embroidery floss belts; sachet packet shoes.

The Potter World elves are similar to Scottish Brownies. Brownies are shy creatures who do housework and gardening in exchange for food and lodging. They do their best work at night. So do I. Maybe that is why I have not yet found any Scottish Brownies helping me chase dust bunnies around my kitchen at midnight.

Scottish Brownies are proud folk. They do not like their humans to think they are looking for freebies. They have a noble work
