A bus has gone down an embankment in a regional town south-west of Melbourne.

Emergency services responded to a report of a bus rollover on Fish Creek-Foster Road in Foaster, located around 173km from Melbourne, shortly after 12pm.

Crews arrived to find a bus sitting on angle, approximately 2.5 metres down an embankment.

"Crews are currently stabilising the bus using a rope system," Country Fire Association (CFA) said in a statement.

"All passengers on the bus are comfortable."

Is it unknown how many people were on board the bus or if there are any injuries.

More to come.
