CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – Firefighters were called to a strip mall on Route 157 near Range Lane to battle a large fire.

When our FOX 2 News crew arrived at the scene, firefighters were attacking the fire from the roof, where some smoke was still visible.

It took approximately 50 firefighters to get the fire under control.

Authorities said the building was vacant.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
