LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- An attempted robbery turned shooting left one person injured and a northeast Las Vegas valley road closed Sunday night, according to Metro police.

On Sunday, officers responded to the area of Lake Mead and Nellis boulevards after a report of a person who was shot in the leg during a robbery attempt, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspected shooter left the scene before officers arrived and was still outstanding as of Sunday night.

Lake Mead Boulevard was closed in both directions between Nellis Boulevard and Betty Lane, according to RTC Southern Nevada.
