LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Motorists who use Willow Avenue in the Cherokee Triangle will face detours beginning Monday as a project to repair a sewer line is underway.
According to MSD, the construction will take place on Willow Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Cherokee Road.
MSD said the decision was made after that section of sewer line was “in critical need of repair.” They plan to make point repairs, and slip-lining the entire length of the pipe which will create a new pipe within the old one.
They add the 30-inch brick sewer line under Willow Avenue was constructed by hand and has served the community since 1907.
Resident Penny Shaw said the road deals with busy traffic on school days and believes the closure will increase traffic in the area.
“I think it'll add a lot of traffic, I bet
