NEW DELHI - Victoria's Nate Tucker won gold as Canada finished the World Para Athletics Championships with three medals on Sunday.

Tucker set a new championship record of three minutes 57.98 seconds in the men’s T38 1,500 metre middle-distance race as he finished atop the podium.

Liam Stanley, also from Victoria, was ninth in the race, crossing the line in a time of 4:07.31.

Sprinter Marissa Papaconstantinou of Toronto earned Canada’s first silver medal of the World Para Athletics Championships.

It was her second medal overall in New Delhi, finishing second in the women’s T64 200 metres with a time of 27.07 seconds.

Wheelchair racer Austin Smeenk of Oakville, Ont., added a second bronze medal to his 2025 World Para Athletics Championships tally, placing third in the men’s T34 800 metr
