JAIPUR: Six patients were killed died in a fire in the ICU ward of the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. Two ICUs, trauma ICU and semi-ICU were operating on the second floor of the hospital. The fire broke out in the trauma ward, where patients in critical condition were treated. There was a total of 11 patients here. Most of them were in a critical condition. Four men and two women are those who lost their lives in the fire.

Dr Anurag Dhakad, who is in charge of the trauma center, said the cause of the fire was a short circuit. The fire caused severe toxic gases and the patients who inhaled them died.
