TORONTO — The Toronto Senior Citizens group met for its monthly meeting Sept. 18 at the Karaffa Recreation Center, with 73 members in attendance.

Chaplain Arlene Obertance-Rice gave the blessing, which was followed by a catered dinner of salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, rolls and apple crisp.

President John Livingstone called the meeting to order.

Obertance-Rice presented a reading entitled “Grandma’s Patchwork Quilt,” after which members recited the pledge. The secretary’s report was waived.

Pat Smith gave the treasurer’s report and Social Secretary Peggy Ziarko acknowledged the 20 members who were celebrating an anniversary or birthday in September.

The group welcomed back former member Joyce Burdine.
