The fire has caused significant damage to the south portion of the apartment building. About 20 units have been damaged, according to the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross is opening a shelter at 10:30 p.m. at the Pullman Parks and Recreation Center located at 190 SE Crestview St. Building B.

Food, cots and other urgent needs will be provided at the shelter.

Evacuated residents are advised to bring necessary items, including prescription medication, clothing, hygiene supplies and important documents.

Special items for children and infants, such as diapers and toys, should also be brought. This ensures that all family members, including those with specific needs, are accommodated.
