Early ballots go out this week in the all-mail special election to recall Julie Spilsbury, who just last year handily won re-election to the nonpartisan City Council to represent Central and Southcentral Mesa.
District 2 voters will decide if they want to keep the incumbent or pick political newcomer Dorean Taylor to finish Spilsbury’s remaining term, which ends January 2029. Election Day is Nov. 4.
While only District 2 voters can weigh in on the contest, all Mesa voters will be getting a ballot for the only other measure up for election in Mesa Nov. 4 – an $898 million bond for Valleywise Health, the county-run medical center.
